MyHarapan Social Project Challenge is a program designed to instill awareness among secondary school students on pressing issues in our society and to take proactive roles in problem solving.

I participated in MyHarapan Social Project Challenge for 2 years, 2016 and 2017. In 2016, we participated in a group of 4 and the idea we proposed was to build a club in secondary school in order to encourage students engaged more in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) related competitions.
After first round of presentation, we have successfully selected into the national final and were given a RM300 budget to start the club in our school. After 3 months conducting activities for the club, we presented our idea to the panel and won the 2nd runner up for this competition.

While in 2017, we were participated in a group of 4 also. This year, the idea that we proposed was to build a conducive self-learning environment in school. The purpose that we built this club was to promote self-learning among local students and fully utilize the online search engine platforms for learning purpose.

As there are some emergency during the competition day, 2 of our members were
not able to attend on that day. However, we have successfully make it to the final round, selected as the national top 5 finalists and also given a fixed amount of budget for the renovation of the club.

Although we did not win the competition after 3 months of hard works, however, we have successfully established this club in our school, Yoke Kuan High School. Now, this "Jom Study Club" has become one of the place where students most likely to visit for the revision and group study purpose. During the weekends and school holidays, we will also conduct some workshop together with the STEM club to help students find our their real interests and widen their horizon in technology fields.
