Digital Ninja Leadership Bootcamp

Digital Ninja leadership bootcamp is a camp that well prepared us for further studies in future. This bootcamp started from 13 Dec 2018 until 22 Dec 2018.
In the first day, there was a briefing section for ninjas and their parents about the details of this camp. The welcome speech was given by our ninjas' "mother", Nadya and Azura. After that, the organization had invited some of the colleges' representative to give us an explanation about their colleges such as the courses provided, environment, facilities, and scholarship provided. The colleges that the organization recommended to us were like TARUC , MMU, APU and Taylors. This premiere speaking slot take about one and a half hour starting from 3:00 pm. After that, we were allowed to have a break section and rest until the dinner time. After having our dinner, there was an ice breaking slot for us to know each other who was from different places better.


LinkedIn Session
There was a special guest -- Mr. Wilson, who is a person that currently working in LinkedIn company located in Singapore. He was invited by MDEC to brief and teach us how to do a proper LinkedIn profile as LinkedIn profile is getting importantly for us if we want to apply for any jobs or scholarship opportunities. The section get started from an introduction section. Some of the ninjas need to introduce about themselves and told Mr. Wilson why they would like to be a digital ninja. After that, Mr. Wilson started to guide us how to open a LinkedIn profile, set up and write a summary about ourselves including our interest and achievement. To ensure that all of us were achieve the target, Mr. Wilson even take a look on our summary one by one and give advice about that.
Resume/CV Session
A trainer, Mr. Q from Trainsition Company was invited to provides us with proper skills of building a resume. Trainsition is a company that provides training for career/scholarship/tertiary education application. Mr. Q was responsible to guide us how to do a resume that suitable for scholarship application. During his explanation, he use himself as an example and show us the right technique to make an excellent sentence which could impress the interviewers. Then, he gave us some time to make our own resume. For those who already have their resume, he used their CV to show us which part is correct and what we shouldn't do when writing a resume such as grading our technical skills and personality by ourselves.
Video Shooting and Video Editing Session
One of the supervisor in ACESTAR Company, Ben, was invited to teach us about video editing by using Adobe Premiere Rush software. He teach us the correct technique when shooting a candy shot. He also introduced the function of camera such as aperture, shuttle and ISO. He emphasized about the importance of choosing the resolution and ratio of a photo as it will affect the quality of the picture. Ben also teach us some techniques to make candy shot like rule of third, tilt, pan, dolly, digital zoom, optical zoom, high angle shot, low angle shot, foreground, transition, depth of field, time lapse and so on. He explained all of them to us one by one and even did a demonstration so that we could understand better.
After learning all of the candy shot tips, Ben showed us a video of Apple's company's advertisement and asked us to draw a storyboard. After that, we were asked to identify the candy shot in that video. In a group of six, we need to shoot a video according to the storyboard that we draw in a limited place and time.
Tech Companies Visit
We had visited a lot of places such as Digital Durian and Iflix. The purpose of these trips is to give us more exposures about the real industry world. When we visited the Digital Durian, the people in charge introduced to us about the development of their company and their achievements in the field of cartoon and animation. While during the visit in Iflix, we were divided into few groups and carried out some workshops. I was assigned to a group under the analysis department. The people in in charged roughly showed us the data set they usually analyze and the platform they used to do data analysis. I was impressed by the huge and complex data set and this further my interest in data analysis.
Interview Coaching and Personal Branding Session
An interview coaching was held for us. There were 4 rooms with each room associated with 2 interviewers from different fields. Apart from interview coaching, there were also a personal branding section and a personality test for us. We woke up early to be well prepared for the interview simulation in afternoon. We were divided into 3 big groups. While one group was being interviewed in the room, another group went for the personal branding session. Personal branding was teaching us the proper attire when attending an interview or go for work. This speaker also teach us how to choose the most suitable clothes according to different events. Apart from that, shoes, shocks and watches were also related to our attire so we need to be careful when matching the color for clothes.
